Antaira LMX-0500-V2 5-Port Fast Ethernet Managed Industrial Ethernet Switch

A small control cabinet on a factory automation line often needs only a handful of Fast Ethernet links, but those links still have to sit inside a managed, redundant network. The LMX-0500-V2 is the standard temperature build in the Antaira LMX-0500-V2 series: a five-port managed Fast Ethernet switch on Version 2 hardware, rated -10 °C to 70 °C for heated or indoor cabinets.

It has five 10/100Base-TX RJ45 ports with auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDI-X, switching store-and-forward on a 1 Gbps fabric with an 8K MAC address table and 9.6 KB jumbo frames. The Layer 2+ firmware covers IEEE 802.1Q VLANs, 802.1p QoS with eight priority queues, IGMP snooping for up to 1024 groups, LACP link aggregation and SNMP v1/v2c/v3, and Version 2 hardware adds static routes between VLANs with DHCP Option 82. Ring redundancy uses ITU-T G.8032 ERPS with recovery in under 50 ms, alongside STP, RSTP and MSTP.

Power arrives on 12 to 48 V DC redundant inputs on a removable 6-contact terminal block, so a second supply can take over if the first fails, and the switch draws 7.5 W. Overload current and reverse polarity protection are built in, and a relay contact rated 24 V DC, 1 A is available for alarm wiring. Antaira gives the switch high EFT and ESD protection, with EMS testing to IEC 61000-4-2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8. Set-up runs through the web console, Telnet, SSH or CLI, with an RS232 console port on RJ45 and a USB 2.0 port for configuration backup.

The LMX-0500-V2 sits in an IP30 metal case and mounts on a DIN rail, with wall mounting as an option. It carries FCC and CE marks, is RoHS compliant and comes with Antaira’s 5-year warranty. The LMX-0500-T-V2 is the same switch rated -40 °C to 75 °C, the LMX-0600-V2 adds a sixth Fast Ethernet port and the LMX-0501G-SFP-V2 moves to gigabit with an SFP slot.
