Industrial UPS

Rugged UPS Modules for Industrial and Railway PCs

An industrial UPS keeps a PC or controller running through supply dips and shuts it down cleanly when the power does not return, so storage is never cut mid-write. Our DIN rail DC UPS modules store their energy in supercapacitors instead of batteries, so they keep working in hot cabinets and vehicles for years without a battery change.

Options include 12 to 35 V and 110 V DC inputs, 12 V and 24 V outputs, ignition control for vehicles and PC/104 power supplies with built-in backup, suited to machine vision cells, rolling stock, vehicles and remote cabinets where a power cut can corrupt data, stop a line or force a site visit.

Speak to an industrial UPS specialist to match the backup energy, output power and shutdown signals to your system.

Industrial UPS Ranges Configured by Things Embedded

We work with the leading manufacturers of industrial UPS modules, so the ranges below are the ones we specify for box PCs, vehicles, rolling stock and PC/104 stacks. Compare them by stored energy, input supply and output power, then browse the models above or ask an industrial power specialist which range suits your system.

PB-9250J-SA and PB-4600J-SA Neousys SuperCAP DIN Rail UPS Modules
Neousys

PB-9250J-SA and PB-4600J-SA Neousys SuperCAP DIN Rail UPS Modules

Supercapacitor backup units storing 9250 or 4600 W·s for box PCs drawing up to 180 W or 100 W, on a 12 to 35 V DC supply.

PB-2580J-SA Neousys Slim SuperCAP DC UPS
Neousys

PB-2580J-SA Neousys Slim SuperCAP DC UPS

A 32.8 mm wide backup module for controllers and compact PCs up to 70 W, tested to MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration.

PB-9250J-110V Neousys Railway UPS
Neousys

PB-9250J-110V Neousys Railway UPS

A rolling stock unit for 43 to 160 V DC train supplies with a 24 V output, designed to EN 50155 OT4 and EN 45545-2.

What to Specify in a DC UPS

Our industrial power specialists size every DC UPS against the PC it protects, the supply it runs from and the place it will be installed. These are the choices we work through with you before recommending a module.

Stored Energy

Energy is rated in watt-seconds: divide it by the PC's draw in watts for a rough backup time in seconds, before losses.

Input and Output Voltage

Match the input to the supply, 12 to 35 V DC or a 110 V train line, and the output to what the PC accepts.

Shutdown Signals

A power button output and a status input let the UPS shut the PC down safely; check AT or ATX power mode.

Ignition Control

In vehicles, ignition modes keep the PC on for a set delay after the engine stops, then switch it off.

Temperature and Lifespan

Supercapacitors run from -25 °C or -40 °C and last years longer than batteries in a hot cabinet.

Approvals

Rail needs EN 50155 and EN 45545-2 with IEC 61373 shock; defence and vehicles may call for MIL-STD-810G.

Industrial UPS Innovation & Safe Shutdown Insights

We specialise in keeping industrial PCs powered through supply dips and shutting them down cleanly when the power fails. Our team of embedded system design engineers recommends and configures industrial UPS modules to the backup energy, output power and shutdown signals your PC, vehicle or cabinet needs.
