GMSL Frame Grabbers

GMSL2 Camera Cards for Vehicles, Robots and Edge AI

A GMSL frame grabber takes GMSL2 cameras, the serial camera link built for vehicles and robots, into a PC or edge system over PCIe. Each GMSL camera connects over a single FAKRA coax cable, so cameras can sit well away from the computer on a moving machine.

Options include four and six-camera cards, fanless designs and AI frame grabbers with an NVIDIA Jetson module that runs perception on the card, suited to autonomous vehicles, mobile robots, agriculture and rail inspection where cameras face vibration and long cable runs.

Speak to a GMSL specialist to match camera count, cable runs and host system to your design.

GMSL Frame Grabber Ranges Configured by Things Embedded

We work with the leading manufacturers of GMSL2 frame grabbers, so the ranges below are the ones we specify for vehicle, robotics and edge AI systems. Compare them by camera count and onboard AI, then browse the cards above or ask a machine vision specialist which range suits your system.

ZED Link Stereolabs GMSL2 Capture Cards for NVIDIA Jetson
Stereolabs

ZED Link Stereolabs GMSL2 Capture Cards for NVIDIA Jetson

Deserialiser boards that bring one, four or eight ZED X and ZED X One cameras into Jetson Orin developer kits over FAKRA coax.

Not sure which range fits? Tell us the application and we will recommend the right model.

What to Specify in a GMSL2 Capture Card

Our machine vision specialists specify every GMSL frame grabber against the cameras, the host system and the software that will use the images. These are the choices we work through with you before recommending a card.

Camera Count

Four or six GMSL2 inputs per card; count the cameras on the vehicle or robot and allow for one more.

Camera Compatibility

GMSL2 cameras differ by serialiser and sensor, so confirm the camera models with us before the design is fixed.

Cable and Connector

FAKRA coax carries each camera link across the machine; plan cable lengths and routing early.

Onboard AI

Cards with a Jetson module run perception on the card and pass results to the host over PCIe.

Environment

Fanless and wide-temperature designs for vehicles, field machines and outdoor cabinets.
