Intrinsically Safe Displays

Intrinsically Safe Displays for Hazardous Areas

An intrinsically safe display limits the energy it can release, so operators can see and control a process in areas where flammable gas, vapour or dust may be present.

The range covers certified monitors and touch displays for ATEX zones and Class 1 Division 2 locations, with sealed fronts for refineries, chemical plants and offshore sites.

For a display with the computer built in, see our intrinsically safe panel PCs.

Beyond Intrinsically Safe: Displays

What to Specify in an Intrinsically Safe Display

In a Zone 2 area, the equipment marking comes before brightness, touch or format. Once the zone is confirmed, sealing, connectors, power and enclosure material decide whether an intrinsically safe display suits the process plant.

Hazardous Area Markings

ATEX Zone 2 and UL Class I, Division 2 markings let the display go into classified gas areas. Match the marking to the zone.

Fully Sealed IP65

Sealed to IP65 on every face, so dust and low-pressure jets from any direction stay out of the enclosure on site.

Stainless Steel Housing

A fanless stainless steel housing resists corrosion in oil, gas and chemical processing areas and wipes down cleanly.

M12 Connections

M12 connectors for video, USB or serial touch and DC power keep every cable entry sealed inside the zone.

Gloved Resistive Touch

Five-wire resistive touch registers gloved hands, so operators can work the screen without removing PPE.

Brightness Options

A standard panel for indoor process areas, with a 1,000 nit option where daylight falls on the screen.
