Winmate R15L600-65EX 15″ Stainless Steel ATEX Zone 2 Touch Monitor with Class I Div 2 and IP65

Screens in Zone 2 areas cannot be chosen on specification alone, because the equipment has to carry the right hazardous-area marking before it goes near the process. The R15L600-65EX is Winmate’s 15 inch stainless steel touch monitor, certified for Class I, Division 2 and ATEX Zone 2 applications and sealed to IP65.

The hazardous-area markings are ATEX Zone 2 Ex II 3 G Ex ic nA IIC Gc and UL Class I, Div. 2, Groups ABCD T4, with ANSI/ISA 12.12.01 and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 213-M1987 listed alongside UL60950-1, EN 62368-1 and IEC60950-1. The 15 inch 4:3 panel runs at 1024 x 768 with 550 nits, 2000:1 contrast and 88° viewing in every direction, and a 1000 nit panel is offered as an option.

Touch is 5-wire resistive, bonded to the panel so it registers gloved hands, and connects over an M12 USB connector or an M12 serial connector. Video arrives on an M12 VGA input, and an optional M12 RS-232 link allows remote control of the monitor settings. For a computer in the same stainless ATEX format, the R15IB3S-65EX and R15ID3S-65EX panel PCs pair a 15 inch display with a built-in processor.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on an M12 connector, with an AC adapter supplied. The fanless stainless steel housing measures 396 x 310 x 49 mm, mounts on 100 x 100 mm VESA and has a 365 x 270 mm cut-out drawing. It operates from -20 to 50 °C at 10 to 95% humidity and is vibration-tested to MIL-STD-810G Method 514.6. Winmate names oil and gas and chemical processing as target applications.
