Winmate R15IB3S-65EX 15″ ATEX Zone 2 Stainless Panel PC with Intel Celeron N2930 and PCAP Touch

In a Zone 2 area, every piece of electrical equipment has to carry the right hazardous-area marking, and an operator terminal is no exception. The R15IB3S-65EX is Winmate’s 15 inch hazardous area panel PC: a fanless Intel Celeron N2930 computer with bonded PCAP touch in an IP65 stainless steel housing, certified for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D T4, and carries the ATEX II 3G Ex ic nA IIC T4 Gc and IECEx Ex nA IIC T4 Gc markings, for ambient temperatures of -20 °C to 50 °C in the hazardous area.

The Intel Celeron N2930 runs at 1.83 GHz with bursts to 2.16 GHz, with one DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM fitted with 4 GB and an 8 GB option. Storage is a 128 GB mSATA SSD with 256 GB and 512 GB options, and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise or Ubuntu 20.04 can be supplied. The 15 inch 1024 x 768 panel runs at 550 nits with 2000:1 contrast and 176° viewing angles, and a 1000 nit panel is available for brighter areas. Projected capacitive multi-touch is bonded to the panel.

All connections use M12 connectors: one Gigabit Ethernet port, two USB 2.0 ports and one RS-232/422/485 port, with M12 cables and an RJ45 converter supplied. Two Mini-PCIe slots take a SATA SSD and a Wi-Fi module. A rear box cover with a cable gland encloses the connector area. The R15ID3S-65EX is the earlier Atom N2600 model with resistive touch, and the R19IHAT-66EX is the 19 inch hazardous area model with an Intel Core processor.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on an M12 connector, with an AC adapter supplied for safe-area use. The R15IB3S-65EX is fanless, operates from -20 °C to 60 °C outside the hazardous area and -20 °C to 50 °C within it, and is tested to MIL-STD-810G for vibration and drop. It also lists UL 60950-1, CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 60950-1-07 and EN 62368-1 with CE and FCC. It measures 396 x 310 x 49 mm without the box cover, weighs 5.7 kg and mounts on 100 x 100 mm VESA.
