Winmate R19IHAT-66EX 19″ ATEX Zone 2 Panel PC with Intel Core i5-4300U and PCAP Touch

In a Zone 2 area of a refinery, gas plant or chemical site, an operator panel must not become an ignition source, and it still has to survive cold, wet and vibrating conditions. The R19IHAT-66EX is Winmate’s 19 inch panel PC for those locations: Winmate states it is certified for Class I, Division 2 and ATEX Zone 2 hazardous area applications, with markings ATEX II 3G Ex nA ic IIC T4 Gc, IECEx Ex nA ic IIC T4 Gc and Class I, Div.2, Groups A,B,C,D T4, each for -40 °C to 70 °C ambient.

The display is a 400 nit 1280 x 1024 panel with 1000:1 contrast, with a 1000 nit panel as an option, under projected capacitive multi-touch bonded with the panel. Front keys handle power, brightness, touch locking and a programmable function. The Intel Core i5-4300U runs at up to 2.9 GHz, with a Core i7-4650U as an option, with one DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM of 4 GB and an 8 GB option, a 128 GB mSATA SSD with options to 512 GB and an optional 2.5 inch SATA drive. TPM 1.2 is on board, with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, Windows 7 Embedded or Linux Ubuntu 20.04 available.

I/O is on terminal blocks, entering through two M16 and three M12 Ex-type brass cable glands: one LAN port, one USB 2.0 port and one RS-232/422/485 port, with two mPCIe slots for storage and a Wi-Fi module. The R19IHAT-66EX-T is the Tiger Lake version, with extra ports for safe-area use.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on a terminal block, with a 24 V 150 W adapter supplied. The fanless aluminium unit is rated IP66 to IEC 60529 in non-hazardous locations and IP54 to IEC 60079 in hazardous locations, and operates from -40 °C to 70 °C with its intelligent heater. Shock and vibration are to MIL-STD-810G Methods 516.6 and 514.6. It measures 474 x 410 x 111 mm, needs a 462 x 386 mm cut-out, weighs 9.8 kg and panel mounts with the clips supplied, or on VESA.
