Neousys PB-4600J-SA 4600 W·s SuperCAP Rugged UPS Module with 100 W Output, Wide Temperature and EN 50155

The PB-4600J-SA is a rugged UPS module for box PCs drawing up to 100 W. Four 370 F supercapacitors store 4600 W·s, enough to ride through short dips and shut the PC down cleanly after a longer outage, from a 12 to 35 V DC supply and across -25 to 65 °C.

PB-4600J-SA Overview

Many fanless box PCs draw well under 100 W, so a full-size UPS is more energy than the job needs. The Neousys PB-4600J-SA is a rugged UPS module with four 370 F, 3.0 V supercapacitors storing 4600 W·s, in the same DIN rail housing as the larger PB-9250J-SA. Like the rest of the SuperCAP range, it is rated for more than 10 years and 500,000 charge cycles, with no battery to replace.

The PB-4600J-SA takes a 12 to 35 V DC supply on a pluggable three-pin terminal block and passes it straight through to the PC while it charges. If the supply fails, it regulates 12 or 24 V at up to 100 W. Neousys CAP energy management tracks the energy left and the load, then starts a clean shutdown in time, so the PC never loses power mid-write.

An isolated 10-pin terminal block provides the PWR_BTN# output and SYS_STAT input, and a DB9 port carries three-wire RS-232 for the configuration utility. Alongside the normal backup mode, two ignition control modes apply user-set power-on and power-off delays from an IGN signal, which suits vehicle PCs that must outlast the engine being switched off.

It operates from -25 to 65 °C, or -40 to 85 °C with reduced energy capacity, meets IEC 61373 Category 1 Class B shock and vibration, and has an EMC design to EN 50155 requirements with CE and FCC Class A. The housing is 82.5 x 175.2 x 128.2 mm and 1.68 kg, DIN rail mounted with an optional wall-mount kit. For a slimmer module at 70 W, see the PB-2580J-SA.
