Neousys PB-2580J-SA Slim 2580 W·s Supercapacitor DC UPS with 70 W Output, Ignition Control and MIL-STD-810G

Small controllers and compact PCs still need a clean shutdown, but rarely have room for a large UPS. The Neousys PB-2580J-SA is a slim DC UPS, 32.8 mm wide and 0.93 kg, built around eight 100 F, 2.7 V supercapacitors that store 2580 W·s. With no battery inside, it operates from -25 to 65 °C and is rated for more than 10 years and 500,000 charge cycles.

A 12 to 35 V DC supply enters on a pluggable three-pin terminal block and passes straight through to the PC while the module charges. When the supply fails, the PB-2580J-SA regulates 12 or 24 V at up to 70 W. Neousys patented CAP energy management estimates how long the stored energy will last at the present load and starts the shutdown in time, with nothing to install on the PC.

The PC connects through an isolated 10-pin terminal block with a PWR_BTN# output and a SYS_STAT input, and a DB9 port carries three-wire RS-232 for configuration. The front panel selects normal backup, ignition control or ignition relay mode, so the same module can protect a fixed-site controller or manage the power-on and power-off delays of a vehicle PC from its IGN signal.

Unlike its larger siblings, the PB-2580J-SA is tested to MIL-STD-810G: operating vibration to Method 514.6 Category 4 and operating shock to Method 516.6 Procedure I. It carries CE and FCC Class A, measures 32.8 x 176.6 x 126 mm and mounts on DIN rail as standard or on a wall with the optional kit. Where the PC draws more, the PB-4600J-SA and PB-9250J-SA supply 100 W and 180 W.
