Antaira LNX-500A-T 5-Port Fast Ethernet Unmanaged Industrial Ethernet Switch with -40 to 75 °C

Outdoor enclosures without heating can drop well below freezing overnight, which rules out switches built for indoor cabinets. The LNX-500A-T is the extended temperature model in the Antaira LNX-500A series, rated -40 °C to 75 °C: a five-port Fast Ethernet unmanaged industrial switch on a DIN rail, for the few links an outdoor control box or field cabinet needs.

Each of the five 10/100Base-TX RJ45 ports auto-negotiates speed and duplex and supports auto MDI/MDI-X. The switch forwards traffic store-and-forward on a 1.0 Gbps switching fabric with a 2K MAC address table and IEEE 802.3x back pressure flow control. It is unmanaged, so it needs no set-up before it goes into the enclosure, and a replacement can be swapped in by a technician without any configuration file.

Two 12 to 48 V DC inputs on a removable 6-contact terminal block give redundant power, with reverse polarity protection and a resettable overload fuse, and the switch draws 3 W. Surge protection to 2,000 V DC and ESD protection to 6,000 V DC guard the ports, while one relay output tells maintainers about a power failure or port break at a site nobody visits often.

The IP30 metal case mounts on a DIN rail or a wall and is rated to IEC 60068-2-27 shock and IEC 60068-2-6 vibration. Antaira lists the LNX-500A-T as UL Class 1 Division 2 certified, with UL 60950-1, FCC, CE and RoHS, and backs it with its 5-year warranty. The LNX-500A is the standard build rated -10 °C to 70 °C, and the LNX-500AG-T brings five gigabit ports to the same temperature range.
