ASRock Industrial IMB-1253E-WV Intel Core 3 304 Mini-ITX Embedded Motherboard with In-Band ECC, Dual 2.5GbE and 9-28V DC

Data collection, factory systems and signage players usually lean on serial ports, networking and a reliable OS image more than raw processing. The ASRock Industrial IMB-1253E-WV is the Core 3 304 model in the IMB-1253-WV series, a Mini-ITX embedded motherboard on Intel Core Processors Series 3 (Wildcat Lake-U) that keeps the full I/O of the series at a lower compute level. It is a newer route for projects that started on the IMB-1234V.

The Core 3 304 has five cores (one Performance and four Low Power Efficient) and a 15 W rating, with Intel Graphics. A single DDR5 SO-DIMM socket runs at 6400 MHz and takes up to 64 GB, with Intel In-Band ECC supported for memory integrity. Windows 11 and Linux are supported, so the IMB-1253E-WV fits a standard OS image and application stack.

Two 2.5GbE ports, from an Intel I226V and a Realtek RTL8125BG controller, allow separate plant and device networks. Display output covers two HDMI 2.0b ports, DisplayPort 1.4a through the USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C port and an LVDS or eDP connector, with up to three screens at once. Rear USB adds two USB 3.2 Gen 2 and two USB 2.0, and internal headers add four USB 2.0. Six COM ports cover legacy devices: COM1 RS-232/422/485 and COM2 and COM3 RS-232 on rear DB9 connectors, and COM4 to COM6 RS-232 on internal headers, with four GPI and four GPO. A PCIe x1 Gen4 slot, an M.2 Key M socket on PCIe x1 Gen4, two SATA3 ports and an M.2 Key E socket for an optional Wi-Fi module complete the expansion.

Power is a 24+4-pin ATX supply or 9 to 28 V DC on the four-pin connector, with AT and ATX power-on modes. The board is rated from -20 °C to 70 °C operating, carries CE and FCC marks and has a TPM header and Intel PTT. We supply the IMB-1253E-WV configured and tested, with memory, storage and the OS image fitted. The IMB-1253M-WV adds a six-core Core 5 320, and the IMB-1254E-WV uses the same processor with a DC jack and four internal COM ports.
