ASRock Industrial IMB-1254M-WV Intel Core 5 320 Mini-ITX SBC with In-Band ECC, Triple Display and 9-28V DC

Signage players and factory equipment controllers often need a few serial ports, two network links and a simple DC feed rather than an ATX supply. The ASRock Industrial IMB-1254M-WV is the Core 5 320 model in the IMB-1254-WV series, a Mini-ITX SBC on Intel Core Processors Series 3 (Wildcat Lake-U) that takes 9 to 28 V DC straight into a rear jack. It brings a newer Intel generation than the 12th Gen Core i7-1265UE in the IMB-1234P.

The Core 5 320 has six cores (two Performance and four Low Power Efficient), a 15 W rating and Intel Graphics. One DDR5 SO-DIMM socket runs at 6400 MHz and takes up to 64 GB, and the processor supports Intel In-Band ECC for memory integrity. Windows 11 and Linux are supported, so the IMB-1254M-WV can run a standard OS image for signage or control software.

Networking pairs an Intel I226V 2.5GbE port with an Intel I210AT Gigabit port. Two HDMI 2.0b outputs sit on the rear panel, an LVDS or eDP connector drives an internal panel, and an internal USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C header carries DisplayPort 1.4a, for up to three displays. Rear USB is two USB 3.2 Gen 2 and two USB 2.0, with two more USB 2.0 on an internal header. Four internal COM headers cover COM1 RS-232/422/485, COM2 and COM3 RS-232, and COM4 as RS-232, TTL 5 V or ccTalk by jumper, with four GPI and four GPO. A PCIe x1 Gen4 slot, an M.2 Key M socket on PCIe x1 Gen4 for NVMe, two SATA3 ports and an M.2 Key E socket for an optional Wi-Fi module handle expansion.

Power is 9 to 28 V DC through the rear jack, with AT and ATX power-on modes. The board is rated from -20 °C to 70 °C operating, with a TPM header and Intel PTT. We supply the IMB-1254M-WV configured and tested, with memory, storage and the OS image fitted. The IMB-1254E-WV uses a Core 3 304, and the IMB-1253M-WV moves to dual 2.5GbE, six COM ports and ATX power.
