NUC-1340P/D4 Overview
Vision inspection, video analytics and multi-screen dashboards need more cores than an entry board offers, but the enclosure is still sized for a board of about 4 x 4 inches. The NUC-1340P/D4 is the Core i5-1340P build in the ASRock Industrial NUC 1300/D4 series: a 4×4 motherboard, also called a NUC motherboard, measuring 104 x 102 mm.
The Intel Core i5-1340P is a 13th Gen Raptor Lake-P processor with four performance and eight efficient cores, which suits multi-threaded vision, analytics and dashboard software. Two 260-pin DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM sockets run in dual channel for up to 64 GB. Intel Iris Xe Graphics drives up to four displays: HDMI 2.0b and DisplayPort 1.4a at the rear, plus DP 1.4a from the USB4 and USB-C ports at the front. HDMI and DisplayPort each reach 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, which suits multi-screen signage and control displays.
I/O covers two 2.5GbE ports on Intel I226LM controllers, one USB4/Thunderbolt 4 port, five USB 3.2 Gen2 ports (four Type-A, one Type-C) and two USB 2.0 on an internal header. One RS-232/422/485 port on an internal header links serial equipment. Storage is an M.2 Key M socket (2242/2260/2280) on PCIe Gen4 x4 for an SSD plus a SATA3 port, and an M.2 Key E 2230 socket with PCIe x1, USB 2.0 and CNVi takes a wireless module. The NUC-1360P/D4 is the Core i7-1360P build with the same 4P+8E layout, and the NUC-1335UE/D4 is the Core i5-1335UE build with vPro and AMT.
Power is 12 to 19 V DC on a DC jack, with AT and ATX power-on modes. The NUC-1340P/D4 operates from -20 to 70 °C and can be stored from -40 to 85 °C at 5 to 90% humidity. TPM 2.0 is onboard, and a watchdog timer with 256 steps from 0 to 255 seconds resets the system if software stops responding. The board stands 38 mm tall.

Official ASRock Industrial UK Distributor
Things Embedded is an official ASRock Industrial UK distributor, supplying the NUC-1340P/D4 configured for UK embedded and industrial projects. Within the ASRock Industrial range the SBC-371 series carries 13th Gen Core UE processors on a 3.5 inch board with LVDS or eDP and three COM ports, and the NUC-J6412 is the Elkhart Lake NUC board for lower-power designs.
The NUC-1340P/D4 sits among our 4x4 motherboards and our industrial motherboards, alongside the other five NUC 1300/D4 builds with the same I/O, so a project can move between Core i3, i5 and i7 builds without changing the enclosure or cabling. Where a 4x4 design needs twelve cores at Core i5 level and four display outputs, this is the model to specify.
