Avalue ACP-3566-PI Rockchip RK3566 Raspberry Pi Alternative SBCs with 4GB Memory and 32GB eMMC

The Avalue ACP-3566-PI series is a family of Rockchip RK3566 Raspberry Pi alternative SBCs on an 85 x 55 mm board, with a quad-core Cortex-A55 processor, 4 GB memory, 32 GB eMMC, onboard dual-band Wi-Fi, HDMI 2.0 at 4K and a 40-pin GPIO header. Powered from 5 V over USB-C, the ACP-3566-PI series suits digital signage players, light industrial controllers, kiosks and OEM prototypes moving to a long-life board.

  • Rockchip RK3566 Quad-Core: Four Arm Cortex-A55 cores at up to 1.8 GHz handle Linux applications, signage playback and light control tasks on a fanless board.
  • Raspberry Pi Footprint and 40-Pin GPIO: An 85 x 55 mm board with a 40-pin header configurable as GPIO, UART, I2C or SPI eases migration from hobbyist designs.
  • 4GB Memory and 32GB eMMC: Soldered memory and onboard eMMC keep the OS on the board, with a microSD slot up to 64 GB for media and logs.
  • HDMI 2.0, MIPI DSI and MIPI CSI: HDMI 2.0 drives a 4K display, while internal MIPI DSI and two-lane MIPI CSI connectors add a panel and a camera.
  • 5 V USB-C Power and Onboard Wi-Fi: A 5 V, 3 A USB-C input and built-in dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi simplify cabling in signage players and small enclosures.

ACP-3566-PI Description

Many embedded projects start life on a hobbyist single board computer, then stall when the design needs a board with a stated lifecycle, a known supply position and CE and FCC compliance. The Avalue ACP-3566-PI series answers that step: Rockchip RK3566 Raspberry Pi alternative SBCs that keep the familiar 85 x 55 mm footprint and 40-pin GPIO header, while Avalue backs the board with a long lifecycle guarantee for production builds.

Compute comes from the Rockchip RK3566, a quad-core Arm Cortex-A55 processor running at up to 1.8 GHz. It is paired with 4 GB of soldered memory and 32 GB of onboard eMMC, so the operating system and application sit on the board rather than on a removable card, with a microSD slot (up to 64 GB) kept for media, logs or field updates. Avalue ships the boards with Debian 10, and its AI SDK is published on GitHub for developers working with the Rockchip toolchain.

I/O follows the layout engineers already know. A single GbE RJ45 port handles the network, alongside one USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports and a USB 2.0 OTG port on Type-A connectors. HDMI 2.0 drives a 4K display, and internal MIPI DSI and two-lane MIPI CSI connectors take a panel and a camera module. The 40-pin header can be set as GPIO, UART, I2C or SPI, and dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi is built in. Avalue also fits an IR receiver and a recovery button.

The range is one build today: ACP-3566-PI-A1-1R carries the 4 GB memory and 32 GB eMMC configuration with onboard wireless. It suits teams that want a single, repeatable bill of materials from prototype to production run, and because the board keeps the Raspberry Pi footprint and header, enclosures and cable runs designed around a prototype can often be reused with little rework.

Power arrives as 5 V at 3 A over USB-C, which keeps cabling simple in signage players and small enclosures. The board cools through a passive heatsink with no fan, operates from 0 to 60 °C and weighs about 0.2 kg. With CE and FCC compliance, the ACP-3566-PI series is a good fit for digital signage, light industrial HMIs and controllers, kiosks and data loggers installed in temperature-controlled spaces.

Official Avalue UK Distributor

Things Embedded is an official Avalue UK distributor, supplying the ACP-3566-PI series configured with storage, wireless, OS image and cooling to suit the application, and tested before it ships. Within the Avalue Arm range, the ACP-IMX8-PI keeps the same Raspberry Pi footprint on an NXP i.MX 8M Mini with -20 to 70 °C operation, and the RSC-3568J moves to a 3.5" board with dual GbE, serial ports and fanless -40 to 85 °C operation. Where a design needs more display outputs and storage, the ACP-3588 brings an octa-core Rockchip RK3588 with dual HDMI 2.1, NVMe and SATA. We can advise on OS images, display and camera choices, and lifecycle planning for production runs.
