Avalue EPX-TWLP-N250-A1R Intel N250 (Twin Lake) Pico-ITX Board with Dual 2.5GbE and Triple Display

An operator panel or self-service terminal that also logs data, talks to a controller over serial and serves a local web page asks more of its processor than a signage player does. The EPX-TWLP-N250-A1R is the build for that mix in the Avalue EPX-TWLP series: a Pico-ITX board, 100 x 72 mm, with the higher-tier Intel N250, DDR5 memory, dual 2.5GbE and two COM ports.

The Intel N250 is a quad-core Twin Lake processor with a 6 W TDP, so the step up from the N150 adds no heat budget to the enclosure. One DDR5 4800 MHz SO-DIMM slot takes up to 16 GB for a local database, a browser-based HMI and a gateway service running together. Integrated Intel graphics drive DisplayPort 1.4a and HDMI 2.0b at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz and an LVDS panel at up to 1366 x 768, and firmware TPM is available under Windows 11 or Linux.

Field connections are on internal headers: one RS-232 port, one RS-232/422/485 port for multidrop links, 4-bit GPIO and four USB 2.0 ports. The rear edge carries two RJ45 ports on Intel I226V 2.5GbE controllers, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, DisplayPort and HDMI. Storage goes on the M.2 B-key socket or the SATA III port, and the B-key socket can take a 4G modem with its SIM while the M.2 E-key socket takes Wi-Fi.

The EPX-TWLP-N250-A1R runs from 12 V DC on a lockable jack, operates from 0 to 60 °C fanless with 0.5 m/s airflow, and carries CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. A hardware watchdog restarts the board if the application hangs. For single-screen signage and simpler kiosk software, the EPX-TWLP-N150-A1R offers the Intel N150 at the same 6 W.
