D131SOXB Overview
Autonomous mobile robots and inspection systems tend to need more camera bandwidth and a direct line to motor controllers, not just a GPU. The AVerMedia D131SOXB is an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX small form factor embedded PC from the D131S series, built on the D131S carrier with Super Mode support, and AVerMedia aims it at AMRs, smart security and smart inspection.
The D131SOXB takes a Jetson Orin NX module in 16GB or 8GB form, with Super Mode supported and a 256 GB NVMe SSD installed in the M.2 M-key 2280 slot on PCIe Gen4 x4. Two 4-lane MIPI CSI-2 connectors on 22-pin FPC give each camera four lanes, which suits higher-resolution sensors. AVerMedia supplies a JetPack 6.2 BSP on Ubuntu 22.04. For lighter models, the D131SONB uses an Orin Nano 8GB in the same box.
Four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports split into two native 10 Gbps ports and two behind a hub sharing 10 Gbps, beside HDMI at 3840 x 2160 and 60 Hz and a GbE RJ45. A CAN 2.0 FD terminal block connects motor and vehicle controllers, the 40-pin header carries UART, SPI, I2C, I2S and six GPIO lines, and TPM 2.0 is on board. Optional daughter boards add 5G, an 802.3af PoE PSE, out-of-band management or DisplayPort, and the M.2 E-key 2230 slot takes optional Wi-Fi.
Power comes from a 12 V to 24 V DC input, and a heat sink with fan cools the module. AVerMedia lists CE, FCC and VCCI, and the D131SOXB is RoHS 2 compliant. Compared with the D131OXB, it trades the third MIPI connector for two 4-lane inputs and adds CAN FD and TPM. We supply it with JetPack flashed, the module and SSD fitted and any optional 5G or Wi-Fi modules and antennas fitted, tested before it ships.
