AVerMedia QL501 Box PC Qualcomm QCS5430 (Dragonwing) Fanless Arm Embedded PC with GbE and 4G/5G Options

Signage players, retail analytics units and smart city cabinets usually need a small computer with no fan to clog and enough local AI to run a vision model on site. The AVerMedia QL501 Box PC is a fanless embedded PC built on the same Qualcomm Dragonwing QCS5430 board as the QL501, enclosed in a finned chassis with a DC jack on the front panel. It is part of the QL501 series.

AVerMedia rates the QCS5430 at around 3.5 INT8 TOPS dense, which suits lightweight detection, counting and classification models running alongside the application. Memory is 4 GB LPDDR4X with 64 GB UFS 2.x storage and a microSD slot. Two 4-lane MIPI CSI-2 camera inputs are available on Linux builds, and USB cameras are supported too. Where a project needs more AI headroom, the QL601B is the matching box PC with the QCS6490 at 12.5 TOPS, 8 GB of memory and onboard Wi-Fi 6E.

On the front panel the QL501 Box PC has one GbE port on RJ45, 2x USB 3.0 and 2x USB 2.0 Type-A, HDMI 2.0 at 3840 x 2160 and 60 Hz, DisplayPort at 1920 x 1080 and a mic-in/line-out jack, with an antenna hole for wireless. An M.2 Key B socket and Micro SIM slot take an optional 4G or 5G module. Order codes add an OOB board, AVerMedia’s PCIe-to-Ethernet board for a second RJ45 port, or a PSE board to power PoE devices.

Power is 9-20 V DC through the front DC jack, with a 12 V adapter and power cable in the box. The chassis has wall-mount brackets, AVerMedia lists CE, FCC, KC and VCCI marks and RoHS, and the operating system is Windows 11 IoT LTSC or Ubuntu 20.04 by request. We supply the QL501 Box PC with the OS loaded, optional modules and antennas fitted, and the unit tested before it ships.
