Axiomtek CAPA13S 3.5" SBCs with AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000 APUs, eDP and Onboard Audio

Kiosks, information screens and operator panels usually combine a built-in display with external screens, sound and a network link or two, all inside a compact housing. The Axiomtek CAPA13S series is built for that brief: a 3.5 inch SBC with an onboard AMD Ryzen Embedded APU, an eDP output for an integrated panel, an onboard audio codec and two or three Gigabit Ethernet ports, shipped with a fan.

Every CAPA13S shares the same layout. One DDR4 SO-DIMM socket takes up to 16 GB, at DDR4-2400 with the V1605B and DDR4-3200 with the V1807B. AMD Radeon RX Vega graphics share system memory and drive one DisplayPort++, two HDMI outputs and eDP, with quad-view 4K/2K display support. A Realtek ALC662 HD codec provides mic-in, line-in and line-out. Storage runs from an M.2 Key B socket (SATA, USB 2.0, optional PCIe x2) in 2242 or 3042 and a SATA-600 port, and an M.2 Key E socket (PCIe x1, USB 2.0) takes a 2230 card. I/O covers two USB 3.2 Gen2 and two USB 2.0 ports, one RS-232/422/485 and one RS-232 port, 8-channel programmable digital I/O, TPM 2.0 and a 255-level watchdog timer.

The variants differ in processor and LAN count. The CAPA13S-GGA-V1605B is the standard build with two Realtek RTL8111G Gigabit ports and the 15 W V1605B at 2.0 to 3.6 GHz, and the CAPA13S-GGA-V1807B keeps two ports with the 45 W V1807B at 3.35 to 3.8 GHz for heavier graphics. The CAPA13S-3GA-V1605B adds a third Gigabit port on the V1605B, and the CAPA13S-3GA-V1807B pairs three ports with the V1807B.

Power is 12 V DC only on a 2 x 2-pin connector, with AT auto power on. Axiomtek quotes a minimum RMS draw of 12 V at 3.1 A for the V1605B and 12 V at 5.1 A for the V1807B, each with 16 GB of DDR4. Every CAPA13S ordering code includes a fan, operates from -20 to 60 °C at 10 to 95% humidity, non-condensing, and measures 146 x 104 mm with a 1.6 mm board thickness. A heatspreader is available as an accessory, and cables for COM, USB 2.0 and a buzzer are listed as options.
