Axiomtek CAPA520PH3G-Q370 3.5″ SBC with LGA1151 Socket for 9th/8th Gen Intel Core, Q370 and Triple GbE

Some embedded designs need desktop-socket processor choice in a 3.5 inch footprint, so one board can cover a Celeron build and a Core i7 build in the same enclosure. The CAPA520PH3G-Q370 is the Intel Q370, three-LAN build in the Axiomtek CAPA520 series: a 3.5 inch SBC with an LGA1151 socket, the Intel Q370 chipset and three Intel Gigabit Ethernet ports.

The LGA1151 socket takes 9th or 8th Gen Intel Core i7, i5 or i3, Pentium and Celeron processors with a TDP of up to 35 W, which lets the processor be specified per project rather than fixed at build. One DDR4-2666 SO-DIMM socket takes up to 16 GB. Intel integrated graphics share system memory and drive one DisplayPort, one HDMI output and an 18/24-bit single or dual-channel LVDS header, which covers a built-in panel and two external screens. Axiomtek lists Intel AMT 12 as an optional feature for the series.

Three Gigabit Ethernet ports on Intel I219-LM and two Intel I210-AT controllers support Wake-on-LAN and PXE boot. Three USB 3.2 and three USB 2.0 ports, one RS-232/422/485 port, SMBus and 8-channel programmable digital I/O cover peripherals and field signals. Storage runs from two SATA-600 ports, with mSATA available through the full-size PCI Express Mini Card slot. A ZIO connector carries one PCIe x1 lane, USB, LPC and SMBus for an expansion board. The CAPA520PHGG-Q370 is the same board with two LAN ports, and the CAPA520PH3G-H310 uses the Intel H310 chipset.

Power is 12 V DC only on a 2 x 2-pin connector, with AT auto power on, and hardware monitoring reports CPU and system temperature, voltage and fan speed. A 255-level watchdog timer can reset a stalled system. The board operates from -20 to 60 °C at 10 to 95% humidity, non-condensing, and measures 146 x 104 mm with a 1.6 mm board thickness. Axiomtek lists this board as CAPA520PH3G-Q370-ZIO, and the HD audio link takes the optional AX93A22 codec board for mic-in, line-in and line-out.
