Giada SDM-L613-1315U Intel Core i3-1315U Smart Display Module (SDM-L) with 8K and 2.5GbE

An SDM-L module, the large form factor of the Intel Smart Display Module, is a compact board that plugs into a display through a PCIe x8 edge connector, so the screen gains a full PC behind its own rear cover. The Giada SDM-L613-1315U is the Core i3-1315U build of the SDM-L613 series, a 13th Gen Raptor Lake SDM-L module. It suits signage and wayfinding displays that mainly play content, where a six-core part is usually enough and 8K playback still matters. The Intel Core i3-1315U has six cores and eight threads at a 15 W base power with Intel UHD Graphics. Two SO-DIMM slots take up to 64 GB of DDR5-5200, and one M.2 M-Key 2280 socket runs a PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD. A watchdog timer and auto power-on help a display recover without a site visit, and TPM 2.0 is optional where your security policy calls for it.

Through the PCIe x8 edge connector the SDM-L613-1315U passes HDMI and DisplayPort at up to 4096 x 2304 at 60 Hz to the display, plus USB 3.2 Gen1, UART, GSPI, I2C, PCIe and a system fan header. The rear bracket adds an HDMI 2.1 port at up to 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz, with 8K60 HEVC and VP9 decode, one USB Type-C 3.2 Gen1, two USB 3.2 Gen2 and two USB 2.0 ports, an Intel I225-LM 2.5GbE port, mic-in and audio-out. An M.2 E-Key 2230 socket takes an optional Wi-Fi 5 or Wi-Fi 6 module, with two antenna connectors.

Power is 12 V DC, either from the 12 V/5 A DC input or from the display through the SDM interface. The module is a commercial unit rated from 0 °C to 60 °C with 0.7 m/s airflow, with humidity up to 95% non-condensing, and is cooled by a fan heatsink.
