ViviSign SD22M 22" Square Displays with 1920 x 1920 LCD, 500 Nits and Android Option

Supermarkets, shopping malls and exhibition halls use a growing amount of square artwork, and a 16:9 screen either crops it or frames it in black bars. The ViviSign SD22M series is a family of 22 inch Square Displays with a 1920 x 1920 native square LCD, so 1:1 content fills the panel at full resolution. At 500 nits it is among the brighter models in the ViviSign square range, which suits well-lit shop floors.

Both builds share the same display. The panel is a native square LCD rather than a widescreen panel cut down, with a 394.56 x 394.56 mm active area and a narrow bezel. It shows 16.7 million colours at 72% NTSC, with a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 178° viewing angles horizontally and vertically, so shoppers passing at an angle still see clear content. A 25% haze anti-glare surface reduces reflections from overhead lighting, and ViviSign quotes an LED backlight life of over 50,000 hours.

The series splits on where content comes from. The SD22M is the HDMI monitor build, with one HDMI input and one USB port, taking content from an external media player or PC that the site already manages. The SD22M-ANDROID integrates an Android 7.1 player on a quad-core Cortex-A17 processor with Mali-T764 graphics, 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory, plus two USB 2.0 ports, wired LAN and Wi-Fi, with Bluetooth as an option. Content is updated from USB or a CMS, and third-party CMS software can be installed, so each screen can run on its own.

Power comes from an external 100 to 240 V AC, 50/60 Hz supply delivering 12 V DC, and the datasheet rates the SD22M at 40 W. The displays operate from 0 °C to 40 °C at 10 to 80% humidity, suiting indoor spaces. Each measures 414 x 414 x 35 mm and weighs 5.5 kg, with a mounting bracket available as an option. ViviSign names museums, exhibition halls, shopping malls and supermarkets as the intended settings, where a bright 1:1 screen at 1920 x 1920 shows square artwork without cropping.
