Winmate L156AD 15.6″ Military Laptop with Intel Core i5-1235U, Optional 1000 Nit Display and STANAG 4370

Field teams in defence and industry often run a laptop on a network, a serial device and a radio link at once, in weather that would stop an office machine. The L156AD is Winmate’s 15.6 inch military laptop for that work, with an Intel Core i5-1235U, two Gigabit LAN ports, an IP65 magnesium alloy enclosure with double injection for drop protection, and MIL-STD-461G and STANAG 4370 EMC as standard.

The 12th Gen Core i5-1235U runs at up to 4.4 GHz, with an Intel Core 5 120U and Core i7 or i9 processors listed as options. Memory is 8 GB as standard with options up to 64 GB, and storage is a 128 GB SSD up to 2 TB with an optional second SSD and a microSDXC slot. It runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC with TPM 2.0. The 15.6″ screen is 1920 x 1080 at 800 nits with optical bonding and PCAP multi-touch, and an optional high-brightness 1000 nit panel is available.

Connections include two Gigabit LAN ports, a USB 3.0 Type-C port with Alt Mode and Power Delivery, three USB 3.0 Type-A ports and an RS-232/422/485 port on DB9, with optional 4K HDMI output. A smart card reader, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS/GLONASS are standard, with optional 4G LTE, RFID and fingerprint readers. The L156AD-M1 adds a Core i7-12700H and an optional NVIDIA RTX A1000 MXM card, and the L140AD-3 is the 13.3 inch military model.

The L156AD is IP65 rated, fan cooled and operates from -29 °C to 63 °C. Shock, vibration and drop from 4 ft are tested to MIL-STD-810H, with STANAG 4370 mechanical tests and TEMPEST as options. Four programmable function keys sit beside the power button, two hot-swappable batteries are quoted at 11 hours, and a 120 W AC adapter for the 19 V DC input is supplied.
