Winmate M156AD 15.6″ Rugged Windows Tablet with Intel Core i5-1235U, Hot-Swap Batteries and MIL-STD-461G

Some field and defence jobs need the screen space of a laptop with the sealing of a rugged tablet, and a battery that never forces a shutdown. The M156AD is Winmate’s 15.6 inch rugged Windows tablet for that work, with an Intel Core i5-1235U, a 15.6″ optically bonded touch screen, two hot-swappable batteries and MIL-STD-461G EMC. Winmate names field service, inspection, factory and mission-critical applications as its uses.

The Core i5-1235U is a 12th Gen Alder Lake processor running at up to 4.4 GHz with Intel Iris Xe graphics. Memory is 8 GB as standard, with 16 GB or 32 GB optional and a second memory slot taking the total to 64 GB. Storage is a 128 GB SSD with options to 2 TB, an optional second SSD up to 2 TB and a micro SDXC slot. TPM 2.0 is fitted and the tablet runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC. The screen shows 1920 x 1080 at 800 nits, optically bonded with anti-glare treatment, and an optional high-brightness panel at 1000 nits is available.

Two Gigabit LAN ports, three USB 3.0 Type-A ports and a USB-C port with power delivery and display output sit on the tablet, with two optional 4K HDMI outputs for a second screen. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and GLONASS are built in; 4G LTE, 5G and HF RFID are optional. A 2 MP front camera and an 8 MP autofocus rear camera with LED light are fitted, and a capacitive stylus and top handle come with it. The M156AD-M3 is the same 15.6 inch tablet with an optional NVIDIA RTX A500 MXM graphics card, and the M101AD is the 10.1 inch model.

The M156AD is sealed to IP65, tested to MIL-STD-810H Methods 516.8 and 514.8 for shock, vibration and a 3 ft drop, and lists MIL-STD-461G EMC. A fan cools it from -20 °C to 60 °C. Its two hot-swappable batteries give around 11 hours, and the 19 V input runs from a 120 W adapter; a kickstand, spare battery and charger are optional. We supply it configured, with Windows installed, and tested, ready to deploy.
