DP to SDVoE V2 Overview
When PCs and media players with DisplayPort outputs sit in a rack or edit room and the screens are elsewhere, the signal has to cross the building without losing quality. The DP to SDVoE V2 is Yuan’s DisplayPort SDVoE encoder for the source end: it takes one DisplayPort input up to 4K60 and puts it onto a 10G Ethernet network as SDVoE. Yuan describes SDVoE as lossless and zero-latency, which typically suits pro AV and live production work.
The input accepts resolutions from 4096 x 2160 and 3840 x 2160 at up to 60 fps, through 1080p, 1080i and 720p, to PC resolutions such as 1280 x 1024 and 1024 x 768 and SD at 480i and 576i. The SDVoE output is a single port that works over RJ45 copper or SFP+ fibre, with the transfer mode selectable, so the same unit fits either kind of cable. Analogue L/R audio travels both ways through a stereo phone jack, and IR and RS232 share the link for control.
A separate RJ45 port handles control. A USB port connects to the source PC, extending USB HID devices by default, with USB 2.0 as an option. Power comes from PoE (PD) on the 10G or 1G RJ45 port or from a 7.5 to 15 V DC input, inside a rugged case. At the display end, the SDVoE to DP V2 is the matching V2 receiver. Where a source has HDMI, DVI or SDI as well, the Multi to SDVoE Pro 4K-C takes all four types of input on a copper output.
Yuan does not publish operating temperature, certification or mounting details for the DP to SDVoE V2, so we check those against your installation. We supply the DP to SDVoE V2 configured and tested with the sources, displays and network it will connect to.
