Yuan SC3C0N4 MC Mini PCIe Analogue Video Capture Card with 4 x Composite Inputs, PAL and NTSC

Compact recorders, vehicle systems and embedded boxes often have a Mini PCIe socket but no room for a full-size capture card. The SC3C0N4 MC is Yuan’s 4-channel Mini PCIe Analogue video capture card, taking four NTSC or PAL composite cameras with built-in H.26X hardware encoding. It suits multi-camera recording on small hosts where processor time is limited.

The card captures a total of 120 fps NTSC at 960 or 720 x 480, or 100 fps PAL at 960 or 720 x 576, full frame rate on every input. Smaller sizes down to 176 x 120 or 176 x 144 suit low bandwidth recording. Yuan lists RGB24, RGB32, YUY2, YV12 and NV12 capture formats, plus cropping, scaling, auto signal detection and deinterlacing. Four pin-header inputs capture mono audio at 16-bit, 48 kHz.

The Minicard connects over a PCIe x1 link. Yuan lists multi-instance and multi-device support, and DirectShow and V4L2 drivers let vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams, Discord, Slack, Cisco Webex and GoToMeeting use each channel, with Yuan’s Windows and Linux SDK for custom recording software. The SC3C0N8 MC doubles the count to eight CVBS inputs on the same size card, and the SC400N4 MC TVI takes four HD-TVI cameras in a Mini PCIe socket.

Yuan lists Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, Linux 2.6.14 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX, so the card can sit in an x86 PC or feed an ARM or Jetson based system. The card measures 30 x 50.95 mm. Yuan does not state an operating temperature range on its model page, so ask us where the card will run in a vehicle or sealed box.
