Yuan SC3C0N8-L PCIe Analogue Capture Card with 8 x Composite Inputs, PAL and NTSC

Recording eight cameras at once puts a heavy compression load on the host processor. The SC3C0N8-L is Yuan’s 8-channel PCIe Analogue capture card with built-in H.26X hardware encoding, taking eight NTSC or PAL composite cameras on BNC at WD1. It suits multi-camera recording and monitoring where the host has other work to do.

The card captures a total of 240 fps NTSC at 960 or 720 x 480, or 200 fps PAL at 960 or 720 x 576, which is full frame rate on every input. Yuan lists RGB24, RGB32, YUY2, YV12 and NV12 capture formats for preview alongside the encoded stream, plus on-card cropping, scaling, auto signal detection and deinterlacing. Eight RCA inputs capture mono audio at 16-bit, 48 kHz.

The card fits a PCIe x1 slot and carries 8 GPIO lines and a watchdog. Yuan lists multi-instance and multi-device support, and DirectShow and V4L2 drivers let vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams, Discord, Slack, Cisco Webex and GoToMeeting use each channel, with Yuan’s Windows and Linux SDK for recording software. The SC3C0N16 doubles the count to 16 encoding inputs, and the SC3C0N8 MC puts eight encoding inputs on a Mini PCIe card.

Yuan lists Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, Linux 2.6.14 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX, so the card can sit in an x86 PC or feed an ARM or Jetson based system. The board measures 119.24 x 68.9 mm. Yuan does not state an operating temperature range on its model page, so ask us where the card will run in a sealed recorder.
