Yuan SC400N1 M2 AIO M.2 HDMI and SDI Frame Grabber with 1080p60 Input

The SC400N1 M2 AIO is Yuan's M.2 HDMI and SDI frame grabber, taking a 3G-SDI or HDMI input at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60 fps with an SDI loop-through output. It suits compact PCs and NVIDIA Jetson systems that need to record a camera feed while passing it on to a monitor.

  • Inputs: One 3G-SDI and one HDMI input on a single channel, so either an SDI camera or an HDMI source can feed the same card.
  • SDI Loop-Through: An SDI output passes the incoming signal on, so a local monitor or recorder stays connected while the host captures.
  • Resolution: Up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, with interlaced, 720p and SD formats also accepted for older cameras.
  • Host Interface: M.2 2280 B+M key module running PCIe x1, so it fits the storage-style slot found on small boards.
  • Software and SDK: Windows and Linux SDK plus DirectShow and V4L2 support, so vMix, OBS, Zoom and Teams can use the card directly.

SC400N1 M2 AIO Overview

An SDI camera on a production line, in a theatre or on an imaging cart often has to feed a monitor and a recording PC at the same time, and a small host rarely has room for a full PCIe card. The SC400N1 M2 AIO is Yuan’s M.2 HDMI and SDI frame grabber, with 3G-SDI input, for compact installs.

The card has one capture channel with a 3G-SDI input and an HDMI input, and accepts up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps. It also takes 1080i, 720p and SD signals. The SDI output loops the incoming feed through, so the existing monitor stays in the chain. Audio arrives as one stereo embedded channel, with analogue left and right available through a wafer connector. Capture and preview formats are RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2, and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0, all 8-bit, so host software can take frames in the format it already uses.

The M.2 2280 module uses a B+M key and runs PCIe x1. On-board processing covers cropping and scaling, automatic signal detection and deinterlacing, and the card captures VANC data alongside video and audio. There is no hardware encoder, so any compression runs in software on the host. Yuan supplies a Windows and Linux SDK for custom applications, and the card works with DirectShow and V4L2 software; Yuan’s compatibility list names vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams, Discord, Slack, Cisco Webex and GoToMeeting. For two channels on the same connectors the SC400N2 M2 AIO moves to PCIe x2, and the SC400N1 MC AIO puts SDI and HDMI inputs on a Mini PCIe card.

Yuan lists driver support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 4.8 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX modules. Yuan lists multi-instance and multi-device support for systems that run more than one capture session or card. The card measures 22 x 80 mm, the standard 2280 length, so it fits a 2280 M.2 slot on the host board.

Official Yuan UK Distributor

Things Embedded is an official Yuan UK distributor, supplying the SC400N1 M2 AIO configured for UK broadcast and machine vision projects. Within the Yuan range the SC400N2 M2 AIO doubles the capture channels in the same 22 x 80 mm size, and the SC400N1 MC AIO offers SDI and HDMI inputs on a Mini PCIe card.

As an SDI and HDMI card the SC400N1 M2 AIO sits among our M.2 video capture cards, our SDI capture cards and our HDMI capture cards. Where a camera feed must be recorded and passed on, this is the model to specify. It uses the same Yuan Windows and Linux SDK and DirectShow and V4L2 support as the models above.
