SC400N1 M2 HDMI Overview

Recording a medical scope, a machine HMI or a presenter’s laptop from a compact computer often comes down to one HDMI input and one spare M.2 socket. The SC400N1 M2 HDMI is Yuan’s M.2 HDMI frame grabber for that kind of single-source HD capture, with an HDMI loop-through so the original display stays connected.

The HDMI input captures 1920 x 1080 at 60/50 fps, 1080p at 30, 25 and 24 fps, 1080i and 720p, and computer timings from 1280 x 1024 to 640 x 480, down to 576i. WUXGA sources at 1920 x 1200 are captured at 30, 25 or 24 fps. Capture formats are 8-bit RGB24, RGB32, YUY2, YV12 and NV12, and HDMI embedded audio comes in at 16-bit, 32 to 48 kHz.

The card is M.2 Type B/M on a PCIe x1 link, with cropping and scaling, auto signal detection, a deinterlace engine and multiple instances, and several cards can run in one host. Yuan provides a Windows and Linux SDK for DirectShow and V4L2 applications. The SC400N1 M2 SDI is the SDI version, and the SC400N2 M2 HDMI adds a second HDMI input on M.2.

Yuan lists Windows, Linux 2.6.14 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit, and Linux ARM on NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. We supply it tested in the host computer it goes into, with drivers installed and capture checked on the inputs you plan to use. The SC400N1 M2 HDMI fits compact recording, streaming and inspection systems that work at HD.
