In a studio, a lecture theatre or a control room, an SDI feed usually has somewhere else to be: a monitor, a switcher or a recorder further down the line. Tapping it for capture should not break that chain. The SC5A0N1-L SDI is Yuan’s single-channel PCIe SDI frame grabber with one SDI input and an SDI loop-through output, so the signal carries on while the card records.
The input accepts 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps and captures at 30/25 fps, while HD-SDI sources run at 1080p30/25/24, 1080i60/50 and 720p60/50, and SD-SDI at 720 x 480i60 and 720 x 576i50. Capture and preview formats cover RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2 and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0, so frames can go straight to an encoder, a display pipeline or an analytics model without a colour conversion step. Audio is captured as stereo embedded audio at 16-bit and 32 to 48 kHz.
The card fits a PCIe x1 Gen2 slot and supports multiple instances and multiple cards in one system, with cropping and scaling, automatic signal detection and deinterlacing on board. Yuan lists 16 GPIO and a watchdog. Software runs through Yuan’s Windows and Linux SDK, and the card works with DirectShow and V4L2 applications such as vMix, OBS, Zoom and Teams. The SC5C0N1-L SDI keeps the loop-through and captures at 1080p60, and the SC5A0N2-L SDI records two SDI feeds from one slot.
Yuan lists driver support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux kernel 2.6.14 or later in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux on ARM and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX modules. That lets a Windows recorder, a Linux server and a Jetson edge unit share one capture design. The board measures 108 x 68.9 mm.
