Instruments and older computers with DVI or component outputs are still common, and the embedded PC recording them may have little processor time to spare. The SC5A0N1 M2 HDV is Yuan’s M.2 HDMI and DVI video capture card with DVI-I and YPbPr inputs alongside HDMI, and a built-in H.26X hardware encoder, so compression runs on the card.
The card has HDMI, DVI-I and YPbPr inputs as one capture channel, and Yuan lists 1920 x 1200 among the HDMI and DVI modes. Sources arrive at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps and the card delivers 1920 x 1080p at 30/25 fps to the host. Colour formats cover 4:4:4 RGB24 and RGB32, 4:2:2 YUY2 and 4:2:0 YV12 and NV12 at 8 bits, giving software a choice between full colour detail and lighter frames. The card also crops, scales and deinterlaces on board and detects the incoming signal automatically. YPbPr runs to 1080p and 1080i at 60/50 fps. Audio is HDMI embedded, with analogue left and right audio through a wafer connector, sampled as 16-bit stereo at 32 to 48 kHz.
It fits an M.2 Type B/M socket at 2260 length and runs over a PCIe x1 link. Windows and Linux SDKs cover custom applications, and DirectShow and V4L2 support lets vMix, OBS, Zoom, Teams and similar software open it directly. The SC5A0N1 M2 HDMI (B/M) is the HDMI-only card on a shorter 2242 board, and the SC5A0N1 MC HDV has the same inputs on Mini PCIe.
Supported systems are Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, 32-bit and 64-bit Linux from kernel 2.6.14, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The board measures 22 x 60 mm, with its video inputs brought out on a breakout cable. Yuan lists multi-device and multi-instance support.
