mPCIeSC5C0N1 MC HDV Overview
A compact embedded computer that must record a screen, an HDMI camera or a component video feed rarely has space for a full PCIe card, but it often has a spare Mini PCIe slot. The SC5C0N1 MC HDV is Yuan’s Mini PCIe HDMI and DVI video capture card for that, taking HDMI, DVI-I and YPbPr inputs on a 30 x 50.95 mm card with 1080p60 capture.
It captures 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps and takes 1920 x 1200 sources at up to 60/50 fps in, captured at 30/25 fps. Computer modes from 640 x 480 to 1280 x 1024 are listed for HDMI and DVI, and YPbPr covers 1080p, 1080i, 720p and SD modes. Frames come out as 8-bit RGB24, RGB32, YUY2, YV12 or NV12, from full 4:4:4 colour down to 4:2:0 for lighter encoding and streaming loads. HDMI embedded audio is captured as stereo at 16-bit and 32 to 48 kHz.
Inputs come out through an on-board wafer connector and cable, so the connector can be placed where the enclosure needs it. An H.26X encoder, cropping and scaling, automatic signal detection and deinterlacing are on board, with support for multiple instances and cards. Development runs on Yuan’s Windows and Linux SDK, while DirectShow and V4L2 support lets off-the-shelf software including vMix, OBS, Teams and GoToMeeting use it as a video source. The SC5C0N1 MC AIO adds an SDI input and SDI loop-through, and the SC5A0N1 MC HDV is Yuan’s 1080p30 Mini PCIe card with the same input set.
On the operating system side Yuan supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, 32-bit and 64-bit Linux from kernel 2.6.14, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX modules. That makes it a good fit for small Jetson-based edge units as well as Windows and Linux PCs. The card measures 30 x 50.95 mm and connects over a PCIe x1 link.
