Yuan SC5C0N2-L SDI PCIe SDI Frame Grabber with 2 x 3G-SDI Inputs at 1080p60

Recording or streaming two SDI cameras usually means spending host processor time on compression and splitting each feed so a monitor can still see it. The SC5C0N2-L SDI is Yuan’s two-channel PCIe SDI frame grabber for that job, with two 3G-SDI inputs, SDI loop-through outputs and H.26X encoding in hardware. It is a good fit for small broadcast, event or monitoring set-ups that work in HD.

Each input captures up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps. The card also accepts HD-SDI at 1920 x 1080p at 30/25/24 fps, 1080i at 60/50 fps and 720p at 60/50 fps, plus SD-SDI at 720 x 480i and 720 x 576i. Capture and preview formats are RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2 and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0, all 8-bit. On-board processing covers cropping and scaling, automatic signal detection and a deinterlace engine. Audio arrives as two streams of embedded stereo, 16-bit at 32 to 48 kHz, so sound stays locked to each picture.

The card plugs into a PCIe x1 Gen2 slot, and Yuan’s Windows and Linux SDK supports multiple instances and multiple cards in one host. DirectShow and V4L2 support means applications such as vMix, OBS, Zoom, Teams and Cisco Webex can use it directly. Sixteen GPIO lines and a watchdog are on board for system builders. Where four feeds matter more than loop-through, the SC5C0N4-L SDI takes four 3G-SDI inputs on a board of the same 161 x 68.9 mm size, and the SC5C0N8 SDI moves to eight inputs.

Yuan lists support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 2.6.14 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux ARM and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX, so the same card can go into an x86 recorder or an Arm-based edge unit. The board measures 161 x 68.9 mm and uses a single PCIe x1 lane, which leaves wider slots free for graphics or storage in a compact recorder.
