Yuan SC710N1 M2 DVI-DL M.2 DVI Frame Grabber with 4K30 Input

Some computers and graphics workstations still drive high-resolution screens over dual-link DVI, and recording that output from a compact computer calls for a capture card that fits. The SC710N1 M2 DVI-DL is Yuan’s M.2 DVI frame grabber for dual-link DVI-D, capturing up to 4096 x 2160 and fast modes such as 2560 x 1440p at 144 fps. It suits embedded recorders where the source is a DVI output.

Yuan rates the card at 4096 x 2160 at 30/25 fps in its headline figures, while its resolution table lists 4096 x 2160 and 3840 x 2160 at 25/24 fps, so the 4K frame rate is worth confirming for a given source. Faster modes include 2560 x 1440p at 144 fps, 1920 x 1080p at 120/100 fps and 60/50 fps, down to 640 x 480. Formats are RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2 and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0, all 8-bit. Audio arrives as one embedded stereo stream.

The capture card itself is an M.2 Type M card of 22 x 80 mm on a PCIe x4 link, cabled to a separate 92 x 60 mm board that carries the DVI connector. On-board processing covers cropping and scaling, automatic signal detection and deinterlacing. There is no built-in hardware encoder, so compression runs on the host or a GPU. The SC710N1 HDV is the PCIe card that adds HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort, and the SC710N1 M2 HDMI2.0 takes 4K60 HDMI on M.2.

Yuan lists support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 4.8 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux ARM and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The two-board design lets the DVI connector sit where the enclosure needs it, which we plan as part of the system build.
