Multi-camera 4K production and monitoring over SDI quickly runs out of slots if every camera needs its own card. The SC710N2 12G-SDI is Yuan’s two-channel PCIe SDI video capture card that captures two 4K feeds at 60/50 fps, eight HD feeds in multi-channel mode, or one 8K source at 30 fps over dual-link 12G-SDI. It is a good fit for live production, broadcast monitoring and 4K recording servers built on SDI.
In single-channel mode each of the two channels takes 4K over single-link 12G-SDI, dual-link 6G-SDI or quad-link 3G-SDI in 2SI or QSD division. 12G-SDI carries 4096 x 2160 and 3840 x 2160 at 60/50 fps, 6G-SDI the same sizes at 30/25/24 fps and 3G-SDI 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, with HD-SDI and SD-SDI formats also accepted. In multi-channel mode the card captures four 6G-SDI feeds at 4K30 or eight 3G-SDI feeds at 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps. Formats are RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4 8-bit, YUY2 at 4:2:2 8-bit, YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0 8-bit, and P010 at 4:2:0 10-bit. Audio arrives as eight embedded stereo streams, with VANC data captured alongside.
The card uses a PCIe x4 Gen2 slot, and on-board processing covers cropping and scaling, automatic signal detection and deinterlacing. There is no built-in hardware encoder, so compression runs on the host or a GPU. Yuan’s Windows and Linux SDK supports multiple instances and multiple cards, and DirectShow and V4L2 support opens it to vMix, OBS, Zoom and Teams as well as custom software. The SC710N1 12G-SDI is the single-channel card with quad-link input, and the SC5C0N8 SDI takes eight 3G-SDI feeds with H.26X encoding for HD-only systems.
Yuan lists support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 4.8 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux ARM and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The full-height board measures 153.95 x 101.01 mm, carries a large heatsink in Yuan’s product image and has eight SDI connectors along the bracket.
