SKY-MXM-500B Overview

Embedded systems with no room for a PCIe card still often need modern display outputs and on-board AI. The SKY-MXM-500B is the NVIDIA RTX PRO 500 Blackwell Embedded from Advantech, an MXM graphics card in the standard MXM 3.1 Type A format for systems with an MXM 3.1 slot. It brings the Blackwell architecture, GDDR7 memory and DisplayPort 2.1a to compact systems at 60 W.

The GPU has 1,792 CUDA cores, 56 RT Cores and 14 fifth-generation Tensor Cores with FP4 precision, at a 2,160 MHz base and 2,565 MHz boost clock, for 9.2 TFLOPS FP32. Memory is 6 GB of GDDR7 on a 96-bit interface at 288 GB/s, without ECC. Ninth-generation NVENC and sixth-generation NVDEC engines handle video encode and decode, and the SKY-MXM-500B supports CUDA Toolkit 12.8 and above, OpenCL 3.0, DirectX 12, Vulkan 1.4 and OpenGL 4.6 on 64-bit Windows 10/11 and Linux.

The module connects over MXM 3.1 with PCI Express Gen5 x8. Two builds are listed: SKY-MXM-500B-6HDA runs in discrete mode with three DisplayPort 2.1a outputs at up to 4K 240 Hz or 8K 60 Hz and DP++ to HDMI 2.1b, and SKY-MXM-500B-6HHA is a headless build for MS-Hybrid mode. Both draw up to 60 W. Operation is 0 °C to 55 °C, dependent on CPU and cooler solution, with storage from -40 °C to 85 °C.

We supply the SKY-MXM-500B tested, and fit, configure and burn-in test it in the MXM GPU computers we build, with the cooling designed around the enclosure and workload. Advantech supports five years’ availability. The SKY-MXM-2000B is the RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell Embedded with 8 GB of ECC GDDR7, and the SKY-MXM-2000A is the Ada Lovelace Type A module at the same 60 W.
