Copper Ethernet stops at 100 m, so a machine or panel at the far end of a site, or one near heavy electrical plant, often needs a fibre link back to the network core. The LNX-0501-M is the multi-mode SC, standard temperature build in the Antaira LNX-0501 series: an unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch with four copper Fast Ethernet ports and one fixed 100Base-FX fibre port, rated -10 °C to 70 °C.
The four 10/100Base-T(X) RJ45 ports support auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDI-X for local devices. The fibre port uses multi-mode fibre (50/125 to 62.5/125 µm) with an SC connector at 1310 nm and reaches up to 2 km, and because the optic is built in, there is no SFP module to choose or fit. Switching is store-and-forward on a 1.0 Gbps fabric with a 2K MAC address table, IEEE 802.3x flow control and broadcast storm protection.
Power arrives on redundant 12 to 48 V DC inputs on a removable 6-pin terminal block, with reverse polarity protection and a slow-blow fuse, and the switch draws 6.5 W. Antaira rates surge protection to 2,000 V DC and ESD protection to 6,000 V DC. One relay output signals a power failure or port break, so a PLC or alarm panel can flag a cable fault before anyone notices lost data.
The LNX-0501-M sits in an IP30 metal case for DIN rail mounting, with wall mounting as an option and shock and vibration ratings to IEC 60068-2-27 and IEC 60068-2-6. Antaira lists it as UL Class 1 Division 2 certified, with UL 508, FCC, CE and RoHS marks, and covers it with Antaira’s 5-year warranty. The LNX-0501-M-T is the same switch rated -40 °C to 75 °C, the LNX-0501-ST-M uses an ST connector, and the LNX-0501-S3 carries single-mode fibre up to 30 km.
