Antaira LNX-0800-M12-67 8-Port Fast Ethernet Unmanaged M12 Ethernet Switches with IP67 and Extended Temperature Options

Most industrial switches live inside a cabinet. Some jobs have no cabinet to offer, or put the switch where vibration, dust and liquid would work an RJ45 plug loose or get into an open case. The Antaira LNX-0800-M12-67 series is designed for those places: industrial M12 unmanaged Ethernet switches with screw-locking connectors in a sealed IP67 plastic case. Antaira describes the M12 connectors as giving a tight connection and reliable operation in applications subject to high vibration and shock, and in environments containing dust, liquid or gas.

Every LNX-0800-M12-67 shares the same design. Eight 10/100Base-TX Fast Ethernet ports use 4-pin D-coded female M12 connectors, and power arrives on redundant 12 to 48 V DC inputs through a 5-pin A-coded male M12 connector, so data and power both seal at the connector. Switching is unmanaged and store-and-forward on a 1.6 Gbps fabric with a 1K MAC table, a 448 Kbit buffer and IEEE 802.3x flow control. The switch draws 1.4 W, carries reverse polarity and overload protection, and Antaira quotes an MTBF of 243,867 hours to Telcordia SR-332, Issue 3.

The series has two builds. The LNX-0800-M12-67 is the standard model, rated -10 °C to 65 °C for sheltered machine and plant areas. The LNX-0800-M12-67-T is the extended temperature model, rated -40 °C to 75 °C for unheated and outdoor installations. Both use the same ports, power connector and approvals. For a smaller node, the LNX-0500-M12-67 series offers five M12 ports in the same style of sealed housing. Choose the -T build where the switch is mounted outdoors or in an unheated space, and the standard build for sheltered areas.

Both LNX-0800-M12-67 models mount on a DIN rail or a wall, and follow IEC 60068-2-27 shock, IEC 60068-2-6 vibration and IEC 60068-2-32 free-fall testing. Antaira lists UL 61010-1 certification, FCC and CE marks, railway EMC compliance with EN 50121-4 and EN 50121-3-2, RoHS compliance and TAA and NDAA compliance, with its 5-year warranty. The LNX-0800-M12-67 series is a good fit for Fast Ethernet devices that sit where an IP67 seal and locking connectors matter more than gigabit speed. Because the switch is unmanaged, there is nothing to configure on site, and the 1.4 W draw means it adds very little load to the supply that already feeds the devices around it.
