Arestech BPC-3025-1A1 Intel Pentium N4200 Wide Temperature Industrial Mini PC with Dual GbE

An IoT gateway at the edge of a site often ends up doing more than forwarding data: protocol conversion, local buffering when the link drops and a small status screen all land on the same box. The Arestech BPC-3025-1A1 is the Pentium N4200 model in the BPC-3025 series, an industrial mini PC Arestech positions for IoT gateway duty.

Compute comes from the quad-core Intel Pentium N4200 at 1.1 GHz, bursting to 2.5 GHz, with two DDR3L 1866 SO-DIMM sockets for up to 8 GB. Four cores give the BPC-3025-1A1 room to run protocol conversion, a local database and an HMI side by side at a low power draw. Windows 10 IoT and Linux are both supported.

Two Intel i211AT GbE ports separate a device network from an uplink, one RS-232 and one RS-232/422/485 port connect meters, PLCs and serial equipment, and two USB 3.0 plus two USB 2.0 ports cover peripherals. Intel HD Graphics 500 drives HDMI 1.4 at up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz and VGA at up to 2560 x 1600. Storage sits on an M.2 2242 M Key SATA slot, and a full-size mini-PCIe slot with one SIM holder and three antenna holes takes a 4G LTE or Wi-Fi module.

Power comes in at 9 to 36 V DC through a Phoenix connector, with a typical draw of 8.3 W at 12 V. Arestech rates the BPC-3025-1A1 fanless from -20 °C to 60 °C with extended-temperature memory and an M.2 SSD, which places it in the wide-temperature class, and it is tested to 1 Grms random vibration and 20 G shock. The industrial mini PC measures 180 x 50 x 115 mm, weighs 0.77 kg and mounts on a DIN rail or a wall. For lighter monitoring work, the BPC-3025-2A1 uses the dual-core Celeron N3350 in the same enclosure.
