Arestech MERA-2001-2L Intel Celeron J1900 Fanless Embedded Box PC with 2x 2.5in Drive Bays

Kiosks and data-logging units often need a second drive, for local records, media or a backup image, long before they need more serial ports. The Arestech MERA-2001-2L is the two-bay model in the MERA-2000 series, a compact embedded box PC that pairs two removable 2.5″ bays with two COM ports.

Compute comes from the Intel Celeron J1900 with integrated Intel HD Graphics and a single DDR3L 1066/1333 SO-DIMM socket for up to 8 GB, which on the MERA-2001-2L suits kiosk software, access-control logic, HMI screens and serial machine control. A DVI-I output at up to 1920 x 1200, with a DVI-to-VGA adapter in the box, and a DisplayPort output at up to 1920 x 1200 drive two screens, and Windows 10 IoT and Linux are both supported.

The MERA-2001-2L carries two removable 2.5″ SATA bays, a CFast socket and an mSATA socket, with the CFast and mSATA sockets sharing a SATA channel with one bay. Two RS-232/422/485 DB9 ports with auto flow control connect serial devices. The enclosure measures 168 x 62 x 135 mm and weighs 1.4 kg. Two Intel i210-AT GbE ports support Wake-on-LAN and PXE, 4x isolated DI and 4x isolated DO sit on a 10-pin terminal block, and one USB 3.0 plus four USB 2.0 ports cover peripherals. Two full-size mini-PCIe sockets with two SIM holders take LTE or Wi-Fi modules.

Power enters at 9 to 48 V DC through a 3-pin terminal block with ignition sensing, a PC/car mode switch, remote power on/off and protection against over-voltage up to 52 V, reverse voltage and over-current. The MERA-2001-2L runs fanless from -40 °C to 70 °C, with vibration rated at 5 Grms and shock at 50 G, and the embedded box PC wall mounts, with an optional Arestech DIN rail kit.
