Arestech MEVA-3112E Intel Coffee Lake Core i3/i5/i7 Machine Vision Computer with Dual PCIe Slots

Current vision cards are almost all PCIe, and a cell that combines a frame grabber with a GPU or a multi-port camera card needs two slots with enough lanes for both. The Arestech MEVA-3112E is the PCIe model in the MEVA-3112P/E series of machine vision computers, with a PCIe x16 slot and a PCIe x8 slot.

Compute comes from 9th or 8th Gen Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 desktop processors in the LGA1151 socket on an Intel Q370 chipset. Two DDR4 2400/2666 SO-DIMM sockets hold up to 64 GB, and Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives VGA and DVI-D at up to 1920 x 1200 plus DisplayPort at up to 4096 x 2160, so the MEVA-3112E can run image processing and an operator display together.

The MEVA-3112E carries one PCIe x16 slot and one PCIe x8 slot wired as four lanes in its expansion module, which takes a frame grabber, a GigE or USB3 camera card, or a graphics card for inference. Three GbE ports on RJ45, an Intel i219-LM and two Intel i210-AT, support Wake-on-LAN and PXE, six RS-232/422/485 DB9 ports with auto flow control and 8x isolated DI plus 8x isolated DO handle triggers and machine signals, and six USB 3.2 plus two USB 2.0 ports serve cameras. Four removable 2.5″ SATA bays support RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10, and four full-size mini-PCIe sockets with four SIM holders take LTE or Wi-Fi modules.

With a 35 W processor the MEVA-3112E runs fanless from -40 °C to 70 °C, and with a 65 W processor and Arestech’s external fan kit it is rated to 60 °C. Power enters through a terminal block at 9 to 48 V DC, or 24 to 48 V DC with a GPU card fitted, with ignition sensing and over-voltage, reverse-voltage and over-current protection. Vibration is rated at 5 Grms and shock at 50 G, and the machine vision computer measures 148 x 241.5 x 231 mm and weighs 5.35 kg. For legacy PCI cards, the MEVA-3112P offers two PCI slots in the same enclosure.
