ASRock Industrial 4X4-AI340 AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 4×4 Motherboard with 50 TOPS NPU, Quad Display and 2.5GbE

Plenty of embedded AI work leans on the NPU more than on CPU cores, especially where the application code itself is light. The ASRock Industrial 4X4-AI340 is the Ryzen AI 5 board in the 4X4 AI300 Motherboard Series series, a 4×4 motherboard that keeps the 50 TOPS NPU and I/O of its sibling on a six-core processor.

The AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 is a Krackan Point processor with six cores and 12 threads, boosting up to 4.8 GHz, with AMD Radeon graphics and an NPU rated at 50 TOPS. In practice the 4X4-AI340 can run AI models locally while the CPU handles lighter application code. Two SO-DIMM sockets take up to 96 GB of DDR5 5600, and ASRock Industrial recommends modules of at least 16 GB. An AMD firmware TPM and a watchdog timer are built in.

Networking is one Realtek RTL8125BG 2.5GbE port and one Realtek RTL8111H Gigabit port. Up to four displays can run at once from two HDMI 2.1 outputs rated up to 8K at 60 Hz and two USB4 Type-C ports with DisplayPort 1.4a. The front edge carries a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A port and a headphone and microphone jack, the rear two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports and the DC jack, and a two-port USB 2.0 header sits on the board. Two M.2 Key M sockets on PCIe Gen4 take NVMe SSDs, one in 2242 or 2280 and one in 2242, and an M.2 Key E socket takes an optional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module.

Power is 12 to 24 V DC through a DC jack, with AT and ATX power-on modes. The 4X4-AI340 is rated from 0 °C to 70 °C, stores from -40 °C to 85 °C and carries CE and FCC marks. We supply it configured and tested, with memory, NVMe storage and the OS image fitted. The 4X4-AI350 moves to an eight-core Ryzen AI 7 350, the 4X4 BOX-AI340 is a complete NUC PC with the same processor, and the 4X4-7535U/D5 is the earlier Ryzen 7000U 4×4 board.
