ASRock Industrial iEP-9042E Intel Bartlett Lake-S H610 Fanless Embedded PC with 4x 2.5GbE, PoE and Ignition Control

Plenty of in-vehicle and line-side jobs need ignition control, PoE and a full set of serial ports more than a large network count. The ASRock Industrial iEP-9042E is a fanless embedded PC on the Intel H610 chipset for Core (Series 2) Bartlett Lake-S processors, with four 2.5GbE ports, two of them PoE+, and ignition control. It is a newer counterpart to the live iEP-9012E.

The iEP-9042E takes LGA 1700 processors from 45 W to 65 W on ASRock’s support list, from the Core 3 201E to the Core 7 251E. Two DDR5 5600 SO-DIMM sockets take up to 96 GB. Intel UHD Graphics drives DisplayPort 1.4a and HDMI 2.0b at up to 4K at 60 Hz, plus VGA. Realtek audio adds mic-in and line-out. TPM 2.0 is on board, TSN and Intel TCC are supported under Yocto, and Windows 11 and Linux are supported.

Networking is four Intel I226-IT 2.5GbE ports, with IEEE 802.3at PoE on two of them at up to 30 W from one port or shared across both. USB covers four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, two USB 2.0 ports and an internal USB 2.0 port. Six COM ports and 8DI/8DO cover serial and digital devices, with optional isolation on COM1 and COM2. Storage is one M.2 Key M NVMe slot on PCIe Gen3 x1, four SATA3 ports with four drive trays, one supplied, and an optional CFast socket. An M.2 Key E slot and two M.2 Key B slots with two Nano SIMs take optional Wi-Fi, 4G or 5G modules.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC with 13-mode ignition control, a remote on/off switch and surge, over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current and reverse protection. The iEP-9042E runs fanless from -40 °C to 50 °C with airflow, is tested to 50 G shock and 5 Grms vibration and carries CE and FCC Class A marks. We supply it configured and tested, with the processor, memory, storage, OS image and any wireless modules fitted. The iEP-9040E moves to the R680E chipset with five LAN ports, and the iEPF-9042S-EW4 adds a PCIe Gen5 x16 slot for a GPU.
