Avalue ACP-Q6490 Qualcomm QCS6490 (Dragonwing) 2.5″ Pico-ITX SBC with 12 TOPS NPU, Dual GbE and Wide Temperature

Edge AI on a small board usually means a trade between inference performance, power and the operating system the application team already knows. The ACP-Q6490 is Avalue’s Qualcomm QCS6490 (Dragonwing) Pico-ITX SBC, a 100 x 72 mm board that brings a 12 TOPS AI engine, dual GbE and -20 to 70 °C operation to compact vision, kiosk and thin client designs. The datasheet is marked preliminary, so final details may change before release.

The Qualcomm QCS6490 pairs eight Kryo 670 cores at up to 2.7 GHz with an AI engine rated at 12 TOPS (INT8), enough in practice for object detection or classification on camera streams alongside the main application. The ACP-Q6490 carries 8 GB of LPDDR4 memory soldered to the board and 128 GB of UFS storage. Avalue lists Android 13, Ubuntu 20.04, Qualcomm Linux and Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC, so the same board can serve Android HMIs, Linux gateways or Windows thin clients.

Two GbE RJ45 ports separate a camera or machine network from the uplink. The primary display connects through HDMI or an internal 30-pin eDP connector, and a USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode adds a second display. Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports sit on the edge with two USB 2.0 ports on internal headers, and four RS-232 ports on internal headers serve scanners, printers or controllers. Two MIPI CSI inputs take camera modules, and a 40-pin header can be configured for SPI, I2C, UART, I2S or I3C. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are available as an option.

Power is 20 V DC on a barrel connector or 20 V over USB-C, depending on the build. The ACP-Q6490 operates from -20 to 70 °C, which suits kiosks, factory cells, retail sites and cabinets that see cold starts, and its 2.5″ Pico-ITX size leaves room for a battery or camera hardware in a compact enclosure.
