Axiomtek AX92322-2GbE 2 Port GigE PCIe Card

Industrial PCs often need an extra network port or two for cameras, controllers or a separate plant network, without the size of a larger card. The AX92322-2GbE is the two-port build in the Axiomtek AX92322 series, a Gigabit Ethernet card for a PCI Express slot. We specify it for customer systems and fit it to the industrial PCs we build.

The card carries two Gigabit Ethernet ports on RJ45 connectors, each driven by an independent Intel i210-AT controller at 10/100/1000 Mbps. The controllers support 9.5KB jumbo frames and IEEE 1588. The host interface is a 4-lane Gen2 PCIe link, compliant with PCI Express base specification revision 2.0, so both ports have bandwidth to spare. With a controller per port, the card suits a system that keeps a camera network apart from a plant or office network.

This card has no PoE, so cameras connected to it need their own power. Jumbo frames help with large image packets from GigE cameras, and IEEE 1588 support suits systems that time-align devices across the network; our guide to IEEE 1588 PTP in machine vision explains how. The AX92322-4GbE doubles the port count on the same board. Where cameras need power over the cable, the AX92320-2GbE is Axiomtek’s two-port PoE card.

Power comes from the PCIe slot, at 1.73 A maximum on the 3.3 V rail, so no extra power cable is needed. The card measures 125 x 111 mm, operates from 0 to +70 °C and stores from -20 to +80 °C. It carries CE certification and supports Windows 7 and 10 (32/64-bit) and Linux. Axiomtek rates operating humidity at 10 to 95% RH, non-condensing.
