DFI ADN253-x7425E Intel Atom x7425E 4″ Embedded Board with 9 to 36 V DC Input and Dual 2.5GbE

An operator panel on a packaging or process machine usually runs one HMI application for years, but the application grows: more screens, more tags, a local recipe database. Memory runs out before cores do. The ADN253-x7425E is the quad-core Atom build in the DFI ADN253 series of 4″ embedded boards, and it pairs four cores with the full 16 GB of memory the series offers.

Its Intel Atom x7425E (Alder Lake-N) runs four cores at 1.5 to 2.7 GHz. Memory is 16 GB of LPDDR5-4800 soldered to the board, so there is no SO-DIMM to fail under machine vibration. Intel UHD Graphics drives an HDMI 1.4b output and an internal eDP or dual-channel LVDS connector, so the panel can connect directly, and Intel TCC is supported for time-sensitive tasks.

Six COM ports cover drives, scales and printers: two RS-232/422/485 and two RS-232 on DB9, plus two RS-232 on internal headers, with 8-bit DIO selectable in BIOS in place of COM4. Two 2.5GbE ports on Intel I226 and one GbE port on Intel I210 separate the machine, plant and remote-access networks. Three USB 3.2 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Type-C port and two USB 2.0 headers take a touch controller and service tools, and three M.2 slots take an SSD, Wi-Fi and a cellular module.

The ADN253-x7425E runs from 9 to 36 V DC on a barrel connector or 4-pin header and operates from -5 to 80 °C with 0.2 m/s airflow over its heatsink, with CE and FCC compliance and a TPM 2.0. For a simpler converter, ADN253-x7211E runs two cores with 8 GB. For eight cores and 16 GB, see ADN253-N305.
