DFI CMS103-Q470IB Intel 10th Gen Core Thin Mini-ITX Motherboard with Q470E Chipset, Triple LAN and 15 to 36 V DC Input

OEMs that build packaging, printing or test machines often ship them worldwide and support them from one service desk. The operator panel on each machine usually runs from the machine’s 24 V supply. The CMS103-Q470IB is the Q470E build in the DFI CMS103 series of Thin Mini-ITX motherboards, and it combines a 15 to 36 V DC input with Intel vPro and AMT on its I219LM port, so a service engineer can reach the board out of band when a vPro-capable processor is fitted.

The LGA1200 socket takes 10th Gen Intel Core i9, i7, i5 and i3 processors, from four to ten cores, and two-core Pentium and Celeron parts. A 35 W TE processor suits the closed cabinet of a machine, and a 65 W E part gives more headroom where the enclosure has airflow. Two DDR4 2933 MHz SO-DIMMs hold up to 64 GB, and Intel UHD Graphics drives two rear DP++ ports and internal LVDS and eDP connectors, three displays at once.

Three RJ45 ports, 2.5GbE on Intel I225LM and GbE on the I219LM and I210AT, keep the machine network, a camera and the site uplink apart. Four rear USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and four internal USB 2.0 take scanners, cameras and service tools, and two RS-232/422/485 ports, two RS-232 ports and 8-bit DIO connect drives, PLCs and machine signals. The M.2 M-key runs NVMe at PCIe Gen3 x4 or SATA, the B-key takes a cellular module for remote service, the E-key Wi-Fi, and RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 spans the M.2 and two SATA 3.0 drives.

The CMS103-Q470IB runs from 15 to 36 V DC on a DC jack or 4-pin connector and operates from -5 to 65 °C, with CE, FCC, UKCA, UL, CB and RoHS compliance and a PCIe x16 Gen3 slot for one add-in card. CMS103-W480IB adds Xeon W-1200TE support, and CMS103-H420IB suits machines that do not need vPro or RAID.
