A multi-camera vision server that runs a GPU, several capture cards and a spare NIC around the clock needs x4 slots as much as it needs a strong processor and error-correcting memory. The CMS632-W480ECRM is the W480E build of the CMS632 series, an industrial ATX motherboard with six PCIe slots that accepts Intel Xeon W-1200E processors and ECC DDR4.
The LGA1200 socket takes Xeon W-1290E, W-1270E and W-1250E processors at 95 W or 80 W, and their 35 W TE versions, plus 10th Gen Core i3, i5, i7 and i9 from the four-core i3-10100E to the 10-core i9-10900E, with DFI rating the socket up to 125 W. Pentium and Celeron are not supported on this chipset. Four DDR4 2933 MHz DIMM slots take up to 128 GB, with ECC on Xeon and Core i3, and Intel AMT supports remote management with Xeon, Core i5, i7 and i9.
Two PCIe x16 Gen3 slots run x16 or x8/x8 beside four PCIe x4 Gen3 slots and a PCI slot. Two of the x4 slots share lanes with the two M.2 M-key NVMe sockets, selected by jumper, and four SATA 3.0 ports support RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. Intel UHD Graphics drives VGA, DP++ and HDMI as three displays. The rear panel carries two USB 3.2 Gen 2, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 and four USB 2.0 Type-A ports, two GbE ports and an RS-232/422/485 DB-9, with five more COM ports and 16-bit digital I/O on headers.
The CMS632-W480ECRM runs from a standard ATX supply over 24-pin and 8-pin connectors across -5 to 65 °C, with optional TPM 2.0, a watchdog timer and CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. If Xeon and ECC are not needed, the CMS632-Q470ECRM keeps the same slots on the Q470E chipset with Pentium and Celeron options.
