DFI CS170-C246DB Intel LGA 1151 Core Mini-ITX Mainboard with C246 Chipset and Dual LAN

A compact edge server beside a production line, or a vision system that keeps a traceable record of every part, benefits from error-corrected memory as much as from processor speed. The CS170-C246DB is the C246 build in the DFI CS170 series of Mini-ITX mainboards, and it is the only CS170 board that takes Intel Xeon E processors with ECC memory.

The LGA1151 socket takes the eight-core Intel Xeon E-2278GE and the six-core Xeon E-2176G at 80 W, 8th and 9th Gen Core i9, i7, i5 and i3 processors up to the Core i9-9900K at 95 W, and the Pentium G5400 and Celeron G4900. ECC DDR4 works with the Xeon, Core i3, Pentium and Celeron parts; Core i5 and i7 run non-ECC memory. Two SO-DIMMs at 2400/2666 MHz hold up to 32 GB, and Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives three of LVDS, VGA and two DP++.

GbE ports on Intel I219LM and I210AT controllers give Intel vPro and AMT with a Core i5 or i7 and a second network. Two USB 3.1 Gen 2 and four Gen 1 ports and two RS-232 DB9 ports sit at the rear, with two USB 2.0 ports and 8-bit DIO inside. NVMe at PCIe x4 Gen3 on the M.2 M-key, two SATA 3.0 ports and RAID 0, 1 and 5 hold data, and the PCIe x16 Gen3 slot supplies up to 75 W to a GPU or network card.

The CS170-C246DB runs from a 24-pin and 4-pin ATX supply and operates from -5 to 65 °C, with a TPM 2.0 and CE, FCC and RoHS compliance. CS170-Q370DB has the same I/O and vPro for Core processors without ECC, and CS170-H310DB is the simpler build with dual display and USB 3.1 Gen 1.
