DFI ED700-EHL22I-x6425RE Intel Elkhart Lake Atom x6425RE DIN Rail PC with Isolated I/O and -40 to 60 °C

Utility and outdoor control cabinets need wide temperature, wiring straight to field devices and predictable timing. The ED700-EHL22I-x6425RE is the build of the DFI ED700-EHL series that covers all three: a fanless DIN rail PC with an Intel Atom x6425RE, Intel TCC and isolated I/O, rated from -40 °C to 60 °C.

The Atom x6425RE runs four Elkhart Lake cores within a 12 W TDP and is the one build in the range with Intel Time Coordinated Computing (TCC), which suits deterministic control loops over the 2.5GbE TSN port. Memory is 8 GB of DDR4 onboard plus one DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM, up to 32 GB in total, with in-band ECC available (disabled by default). Storage is 32 GB of eMMC plus an M.2 2280 SATA slot, and the ED700-EHL22I-x6425RE runs Windows or Ubuntu 20.04 with UEFI boot.

Networking is one 2.5GbE TSN port and three Intel GbE ports on RJ45, with an Allxon OOB Enabler optional by request. USB is two USB 2.0 Type-A on top and two USB 3.1 Type-A on the front, and VGA drives one display at up to 2560×1600. Two RS-232/422/485 ports sit on DB9, and two isolated RS-232 ports and six isolated digital inputs with six isolated outputs use terminal blocks, with 2 kV isolation, which helps protect against ground loops from field wiring. An M.2 3042/3052 B key slot with dual SIM takes an optional 5G Sub-6 or 4G module, and an M.2 2230 E key slot takes optional Wi-Fi 6.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on a terminal block. DFI rates the ED700-EHL22I-x6425RE from -40 °C to 60 °C, with 3G operating shock and random vibration to IEC 60068-2-64, and lists CE, FCC, RoHS and UKCA compliance. It mounts on a DIN rail or a wall. We supply it configured and tested, with storage, the OS image and any 5G, 4G or Wi-Fi modules and antennas fitted before it ships. The ED700-EHL22I-J6412 is the 0 °C to 60 °C build with the Celeron J6412, and the ED700-EHL-x6425E keeps four Ethernet ports without isolated I/O.
