RPS100-R680EDB Overview
A machine vision cell or an automated test station often runs for weeks between restarts, holding image buffers and measurement data in memory the whole time. The RPS100-R680EDB is the R680E build in the DFI RPS100 series of Mini-ITX motherboards, and the chipset is the reason to choose it: DFI lists ECC DDR5 support with Core i7 and i5 processors, so single-bit memory errors are corrected rather than passed on to results.
The LGA1700 socket takes Intel Core Series 2 (Bartlett Lake-S) processors, 14th, 13th and 12th Gen Intel Core, Intel Processor 300 and Pentium and Celeron parts, from two to 24 cores at up to 65 W TDP. We fit the processor that suits the workload and the cooling in your enclosure. Two DDR5 4800 MHz SO-DIMMs take up to 64 GB in dual channel, and Intel UHD Graphics drives HDMI, DP++ at up to 3840 x 2160 and 60 Hz and VGA, with DFI’s optional M2A module for an LVDS or eDP panel.
Two 2.5GbE ports on Intel I226LM and I226V controllers split camera or instrument traffic from the network uplink. The rear panel has two USB 3.2 Gen 2 and four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, with two more USB 2.0 on an internal header, and the board adds two RS-232/422/485 ports and 8-bit DIO. The PCIe x16 slot runs at Gen5 as one x16 or two x8 links for a GPU or frame grabber, the M.2 M-key takes NVMe at PCIe Gen3 x4, the E-key takes Wi-Fi and two SATA 3.0 ports take further drives.
Power comes from a standard ATX supply on 24-pin and 4-pin connectors. The RPS100-R680EDB operates from -5 to 65 °C with CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance and a discrete TPM. Where ECC is not a requirement, RPS100-Q670EDB keeps the I226LM port and moves to six USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and RPS100-H610EDB is the H610E build with two I226V ports and rear USB 2.0 for keyboards and scanners.

Official DFI UK Distributor
Things Embedded is an official DFI UK distributor, supplying the RPS100-R680EDB configured with the processor, ECC or standard memory, storage, cooling and an OS image, then tested before it ships. For the same socket in a slimmer build on 12 V DC, compare RPS101. We can help match the processor and cooler to the enclosure and choose a GPU or capture card for the x16 slot.
